Editorial policy

Fresh Cricket Journal aims to make cricket’s design and culture easier to notice and understand. We write with care, distinguish description from interpretation and correct material errors when they are brought to our attention.

Accuracy and context

We check factual statements against suitable references before publication and take care with dates, terminology and claims about how a custom or object developed. When accounts differ or evidence is limited, we make that uncertainty clear. Interpretations of design or tradition are presented as readings, not settled facts.

Editorial independence

Editorial choices are made for their relevance to the publication’s subject and readers. A commercial relationship does not determine an editorial conclusion. We do not promise favourable coverage in return for access, payment or another benefit.

Corrections

If you believe a published piece contains a factual error, use the Contact page and identify the article and the point in question. We review correction requests, amend confirmed errors and make the change clear when the correction is material.

Partnerships and illustrations

Paid or partner material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, they are identified as illustrations and are not presented as documentary photographs.
